Dr. Carolin Bannehr

Dr. Carolin Bannehr (née Castorf) was born and raised in Berlin.

After graduating from high school, she studied law from 2008 to 2013 at Bucerius Law School in Hamburg and at Waseda Law School in Tokyo, Japan. After her first state state exam, she worked as a research assistant in antitrust law at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Berlin and at Krause & Kollegen in Berlin.

She completed her legal apprenticeship at the Berlin Superior Court of Justice from 2014 to 2016. After her second state state exam, she wrote her doctoral thesis about legal aid in national and transnational proceedings under Prof. Dr. Karsten Gaede at Bucerius Law School in Hamburg.

In addition to her doctorate, she has been working as a research assistant at Danckert Bärlein Sättele since summer 2016, before joining the firm as a lawyer in April 2018.
