Elisabeth Baier LL.M. (LSE)Team

Elisabeth Baier was born in 1990 in Bergisch Gladbach and grew up in neighboring Leverkusen.

From 2009 to 2014, she studied law with a specialization in criminal law at the University of Passau, where she worked for several years for Prof. Dr. Robert Esser in the areas of European criminal law and the ECHR, for the research center “Human Rights in Criminal Proceedings” and as a tutor in criminal law.

From 2014 to 2016, she completed her legal clerkship at the Berlin Court of Appeal, including working for a law firm specializing in commercial criminal law and at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague. In 2017 and 2018, she strengthened her international profile by working for the Chairman of the Committee for Human Rights and Humanitarian Aid of the German Bundestag, by completing an LL.M. at the London School of Economics and Political Science with a focus on international law, and by working as a Carlo Schmid Fellow at the International Criminal Court.

She has been an attorney at DANCKERT BÄRLEIN & PARTNER since 2019 and a partner since January 2025. She has also held the title “Specialist Lawyer in Criminal Law” since February 2024.

She advises on both white collar crime and general criminal law, in particular on matters with an international dimension.
