Dr. Linus Mührel

Dr. Linus Mührel grew up in Bonn and Emden.

After graduating from high school, he spent a voluntary social year at Caritas Western Siberia in Barnaul and Novosibirsk (Russia).

From 2010 to 2016, he studied law at Freie Universität Berlin. During his studies, he worked as a student assistant at a collaborative research center at Freie Universität Berlin on governance in areas of limited statehood, participated in international student competitions and completed an internship with a Russian human rights NGO in Yekaterinburg (Russia). Outside university, he volunteered for various projects, including the voluntary services abroad of the Diocese Osnabrück, for which he, inter alia, held seminars in Uganda and South Africa and children’s playground projects in Orenburg and Barnaul (Russia), as part of a Russian-German youth exchange.

After his university studies, he completed his doctorate with a dissertation on international humanitarian law at Freie Universität Berlin. During his doctoral studies, for which he was funded by the Cusanuswerk, he was in Geneva and Vienna for research stays and worked at the Chair of International Law, European Law and Public Law at Technische Universität Berlin.

From 2020 to 2022, he completed his legal apprenticeship at the Berlin Superior Court of Justice including stations at the Research Services of German Bundestag, the department for organized crime of the Berlin Public Prosecutor’s Office and a law firm specialized in white-collar crime law.

He joined the law firm DANCKERT BÄRLEIN & PARTNER as a lawyer in 2023. In addition to German, he also speaks English, Italian and Russian.
